Lauren Gray is an African American visual artist born in Detroit and raised in Georgia. As a child, Lauren loved many different forms of art, especially drawing and later photography. She started her own photography business as a junior in college in 2015 and began painting later that same year as a part of an art elective. She received encouraging words to continue painting and decided to pursue an art career in 2020. Today, she is a fine art photographer and abstract painter. Lauren uses vibrant colors and bold lines in her abstract paintings that create an eye-catching experience. She enjoys exploring new materials to provide unique elements in her work. Her aim is to create detailed pieces with many elements located throughout the paintings taking the viewers eye to a new place every time. Viewers are able to use their own perspective to determine what they see when they look at her work as there can be endless possibilities.
As a photographer, she enjoys the interactions that takes place with her subject matter and the ability to time-stamp beautiful moments in time. She explores unique depths of field and perspectives to make creative and artistic images that are everlasting. Lauren hopes that her work can inspire others to view the world in different ways and take time to appreciate the different perspectives that there are. She hopes to inspire others to be free in their choices, follow their dreams, and express themselves in a way that is true to them.
